The knowledge mobility of Renewable Energy Technology

In the race to achieve climate goals, many governments and organizations are encouraging local development of Renewable Energy Technology (RET). The spatial innovation dynamics a technology partly depends on characteristics knowledge base which this builds, in particular analyticity cumulativeness knowledge. Theoretically, greater lesser positively associated with more widespread development. study, we first empirically evaluate these relations for general then systematically determine set 14 different RETs. We find that, while several RETs (photovoltaics, fuel cells, energy storage) have highly analytic develop widespread, there also important (wind turbines, solar thermal, geothermal, hydro energy) is less widespread.
